I decided to put an aquarium in our house. I didn’t think we had room for one, but then I thought on top of the cabinet in the dining room would be a good place. The only problem with that choice is that it is a prime spot for the cats to look out the window. So we decided to compromise, moved the cabinet over, and bought a new cat perch to put next to it.
Frankie was interested as soon as I brought the fish tank into the house last Saturday.

Chris took over the cover and didn’t move for hours.

Once the tank was set up and the cat perch in place, Frankie decided to check out the fish.

Floki was interested, too, and even napped next to the fish for a while.

I have some photos of Chris on the perch, but he kept moving, and all the pictures are blurry.
Here is what the fish tank looked like on Thursday.

We only have a few tetras now, but we will probably put more fish in soon. If you want to learn more about the method I used to set up my fish tank click here.

The cats ought to learn to enjoy watching “fish TV” !
Hugs, Pam
I know I enjoy it.
Oh my CAT, fun times ahead: good thing the tank has a top! Don’t give ’em a pole and bait …
That might be fun. 😀
Sushi bar for the cats! 🙂
😀
Lucky kitties have fish tv-live. 🙂
What more could they want?
the cats will really enjoy that! The only thing I would hate is cleaning the darned thing!
I set it up so cleaning would be be minimal.
Exciting!
🐟 😀
That should be pretty entertaining for everyone!
I think so too.
Very cool. Tight lid, I assume…so no kitty fishing.
I bought glass lids but they were a little too big so I had to return them. I can’t find the right size so I guess I will just have to stick with the cheap plastic limb that it came with.
This reminds me…are there any small pet shops left, anywhere? Everything seems to be Petco, Pet Smart & Chewy…of course, Chewy doesn’t sell live animals over the Internet…that I am aware of.
I remember small pet shops in the 70s & 80s. Some were really bad but, there were some top notch ones that had really good equipment and knowledgeable people.
I buy cat food at a local place called Munchies. They don’t have fish but there is a local fish store that I haven’t been in yet.
We have a Paws At The Corner store in my little town but, no fish.
I find the local stores tend to have the higher quality cat foods.
I agree!
Now the cats have Fish TV to watch!
They are so lucky.

I bet the cats think it’s like one of those restaurants where you choose which lobster you want.
They wish.
I love having the tank here, its soothing to watch while I’m working…takes some of the stress out of my day!
